My ham radio call is K4NYW and following my interest in Navy Radio, I got curious if NYW was used as a Navy call sign. I didn't find any info until Tom K4NCG pointed me to info on direction finding "Station T" ("Station Tare") located at Point St. George Calif 1936-1944 with the call sign NYW.
Many thanks to Grady Lewis and Jay Browne of the Navy
Cryptologic Veterans Association for providing all of this material
- they have been extremely
helpful.
