It's Race Weekend at Virginia International Raceway! Saturday's all-afternoon practice session at the track will be followed by four exciting races this Sunday beginning at 10:00 a. m.! The last race will be the big one … a 2-1/2 hour event for the nation's most coveted sports car racing trophy … The President's Cup! See you at the track!

WDVA will provide an exclusive lap-by-lap coverage of the President's Cup Race for this area … and will be the originating station for the newly organized VIR Radio Network throughout North Carolina. Broadcasting from the tall Pagoda, two specially-constructed. towers, and using an intricate communication system with 22 other points along the track, we can promise first-class coverage of the entire event. When you attend the races this Sunday, take a portable radio for additional enjoyment of the President's Cup Race! The local broadcast will be presented. by the MEBANE COMPANY, makers of KINGSDOWN MATTRESSES... the COCA-COLA BOTTLING COMPANY … and the THOMPSON-ARTHUR PAVING COMPANY. We'll take to the airwaves from the track at 2:15 p. m. on Sunday!

Listeners to the interviews between VIR President ED KEMM and WDVA's Program Director DICK CAMPBELL have gained a wonderful insight into sports car racing! This series was presented over this station throughout the past week by the JESSE JONES SAUSAGE COMPANY and HOLSUM BAKERY!

The popular CAVALIER RESTAURANT sponsored WDVA's broadcast of the official inspection of the competing sports cars at the Danville airport this Saturday morning at 9:40 a. m. The interesting behind-the-scenes broadcast was done by DICK CAMBELL from our mobile unit!
