Virginia International Raceway - October 26-27, 1957
Just like a beaming fisherman, President Ed Kemm of the Virginia International Raceway proudly displays his "big catch" for the racetrack east of Danville. It's the President's Cup which will be presented the winner of the 2-1/2 hour feature race at VIR on Sunday, Oct. 27. President Eisenhower inaugurated the cup race in 1954. There being no suitable race for it last year, Kemm managed to obtain it as the championship trophy for the national competitions at the area course. The cup will be placed on display in Thalhimers' window next week. The formal presentation is scheduled at the White House on Tuesday after the race.
