After the track was closed in 1974, it reverted to farmland for almost 25 years. A number of people tried to put together the funds and a deal over the years, but nothing came of these efforts until developer and vintage racer Harvey Siegel struck a deal with the Foote family in 1998. Today, Siegel and his business partner Connie Nyholm have created a beautiful facility hosting constant racing activity.
After 1974, the track surface remained in remarkably good condition as trees grew up next to the track and cows roamed over the area. In 1998, it was still drivable (not at speed of course).
